< Challenge to speak Japanese >

After you have reviewed this page, click a button in below to practice to pronounce Japanese.

*************
Japanese Greetings

1) "Good morning - OHAYO"

”Ohayo gozaimasu" is a polite expression of "Ohayo," and used also to address elders.

2) "Hello - KONNICHIWA"

3) "Good evening - KONBANWA"

4) What? Are there two greetings at night?

"OYASUMI" or "OYASUMINASAI" is a farewell greeting at night. Or I use it when I sleep (When I go to bed). "Oyasuminasai is a polite expression of "OYASUMI," and used also to address elders.

"KONBANWA" is when you meet someone at night.

Also, don't forget to practice bowing when greeting. Bowing makes you look more Japanese.

5. "Good bye - SAYONARA"

"SAYONARA" can be used at any time for a farewell, in the morning, afternoon and evening, but also it is also used for a farewell that you cannot see for a while.
